Adwoa is a goal-oriented, focused, results-driven professional with over 17 years of experience in development work, Non-profit and Board Management. Throughout her working life, she has provided guidance and technical assistance to local organizations and individuals as well as donor- funded programs in a wide range of areas such as Clean Cooking, Energy efficiency, Sustainable livelihoods, Girls’ Education, Safeguarding, Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, Ebola and Cholera, Social and financial literacy, curriculum design and development, Community systems strengthening, Social Behaviour Change Communication, Program Development, research, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation etc.
For the past 17 years, she has worked extensively with both International and Local Non-profit Organizations, led programs designed to build the capacity of government agencies, communities and community systems, NGOs and program staff, worked with grass roots women and girls to develop and build livelihoods and enterprises, thereby helping them gain economic independence and supporting to take care of their homes. As a Program and Business Development Specialist, she partners strategically with local leaders to enhance development with emphasis on health and education for women and children.
In the last 5 years, Adwoa has served on the Board of the Ghana Alliance for clean cooking, 2 years as a Vice Chair and as the Chairperson from 2019 to date, where she drives strategic support for the clean cooking sector in Ghana.
She is a member of the Global Women’s Network for Energy Transition (GWNET) where she volunteers as a mentor on the Global Women in Energy Mentoring Program which offers an energy-sector specific, global mentoring programme for women in junior/middle management positions. She sits on the board of other non-profits in Ghana. She graduated with a BSc in Physical Sciences from the University of Cape Coast.
Adwoa is self-motivated with high energy, initiative and drive. She comes across as warm, sensitive and understanding and endeavours to make each moment significant and enjoyable. She brings a warm and friendly atmosphere into any environment she finds herself. She has a passion for mentoring /coaching and training youth, students and teachers.
stepehn, Finance & Compliance Manager
Stephen is a highly skilled financial, administration, and Grant manager with over fourteen years of experience. Throughout his career, he has taken on roles of increasing responsibility and technical aptitude, developing expertise in budget preparation, forecasting expenditure trends, monitoring key accounts, auditing, and providing organizational capacity training in account management.
Stephen has a proven track record in managing donor-grantee relationships, fostering effective inter-organizational communication, and collaborating with financial institutions and service providers. He provides financial training for NGOs and Support Groups to develop and maintain basic financial systems. Over the past twelve years, he has successfully managed grants to Non-Governmental Organizations, School Management Committees, Support Groups, and Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
His proficiency in financial management, combined with his strong leadership skills, makes him an asset to our organization. Stephen is committed to ensuring that financial systems are streamlined, transparent, and compliant with best practices. He has a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions to complex financial challenges.
